fantasy characters in the modern day is really important
Q:Fenris/Hawke: Austen AU. >;D
“Forgive me,” said she, “but I must believe I have mis-heard you. Am I to understand that you have made me a proposal?”
His features flickered with surprise; he said, “Just so.”
“Excuse me. I meant to give you the opportunity to demur. I will not believe you to be serious in making me an offer of marriage.”
Abruptly, he rose to his feet. “This is your refusal?”
“You have given me every reason to refuse you.”
Fenris crossed to the fireplace with quick steps, agitation in every movement. She was not used to seeing him any less than composed; it gratified and embarrassed her at once, but did not sway her. At length he turned to her and said, “Will you tell me what you mean? or does it please your vanity to keep me in ignorance?”
At once she saw that he believed himself to be the injured party, and her pity fled her heart. “You cannot be serious, sir.”
“You mock me.”
I believe a significant number of my readers will swoon at this crossover
Reblogging again because it just struck me that all Fenris x Anders or Fenris x Hawke art I reblog has a Fenris in a posture where you can’t tell if he’s willing or resisting.
I’m trying to write a second chapter of It Would Not Be The First Time (and by “second chapter” I mean “second half of what I intended to write in the first place”) and what’s holding me up is how to write it in a way that isn’t an utter squickfest of dubcon, and is consistent with both Fenris’ values and Wynne’s. (Wynne’s values are canonically that she likes getting her leg over, although I suspect Fenny is a tad slender for her tastes, but also that she must use her power for good, which is kind of inconsistent with taking advantage of a half-starved slave on the run.)
Rambling possibly not that relevant to picture so enjoy.
Fenris met Barkspawn in the back alleys of Lowtown, trying to reach Hawke’s house by a discreet route. He was not quite sure how he knew Barkspawn specifically, but the dog itself assisted by approaching and looking up at him as if expecting to be greeted.
"Is Hawke with you?" he asked, thinking perhaps the dog would lead him to the mage. But the dog shook his head and pawed the ground, then walked away in the direction of the docks. He paused and turned back to indicate that Fenris should follow.
